A friendly area and a close community

A move to London can often be a little isolating, but in Erith there is a completely different story. Erith is known for its close knit community, friendly atmosphere and general welcoming feel. The area is also home to plenty of schools with great credentials, its very own leisure centre that hosts numerous sports tournaments for adults and kids alike as well as the Lesney Farm to take little ones that aren’t quite big enough for school. With a small population and weekly community meetings, activities and organised events for the kids, Erith is a homely area perfect for families.

What is Shared Ownership?

Shared ownership is a government back initiative to help first-time buyers who are unable to buy a property outright. Otherwise known as part buy, part rent, shared ownership is one of the most affordable homeownership options, offering a great way to get on the property ladder.

Buyers are offered the chance to purchase a share of a property, whilst paying subsidised rent to a housing association on the remaining shares.

How the process works

Register your interest to be added to our mailing list and you will receive details of the currently available properties and forthcoming open dayhs. Assuming that you meet the eligibility criteria, you will be invited to view and reserve a property.

If you are allocated a home, you will need to arrange the finance for the property, usually with a mortgage, and appoint a solicitor to complete the purchase. We have a panel of recommended independent financial advisors and solicitors.

Is shared ownership for me?

If you are unable to afford the full deposit or monthly repayments then this scheme is for you. There are a few stipulations though. Namely, you cannot currently own a property, you need to have a household income of more than £80k per annum. You should also be prepared for the costs involved with buying a home and for this we recommend you have around £4000. This is currently the best route that enables people to enter onto the property ladder.
